Course Learning Objectives/Outcomes

By the end of the course, the Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker or Psychologist will be able to:
-Describe how trauma-informed care differs from non trauma-informed systems.
-Give an example of what could be done to employee a trauma-informed approach for potentially trauma-triggering services.
-Describe what determines if an event is experienced as traumatic.
-Name five core principles of a trauma-informed approach to care.
-Name three examples of preferable language to use in place of negatively charged language such as "disrespectful," "rude," and "aggressive."
